Job Title: Controller Location : Santa Fe Spring (onsite)SUPPLEMENTAL PAY:Schedule: 8AM to 5 PM
Type: direct hire
Duties:RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively present reports and other information to Management.
- Assure compliance with Firm and industry standards.
- Develop and manage the bookkeeping staff including training, professional development, and performance reviews.
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and year-end bookkeeping projects including:
- Bank account reconciliations
- Prepaid expenses and amortization
- Inventory adjustments and reconciliation
- Intercompany reconciliation
- Fixed assets and depreciation
- Credit card reconciliations
- Accruals and reversals
- Notes payable and interest expense
- Retained earnings reconciliation
- Payroll entries and reconciliation
- General ledger review for proper classification
- Supervise bookkeepers accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting and payroll processing.
- Rationalize the Chart of Accounts.
- Recommend and implement internal controls.
- Assist the bookkeepers with the preparation of financial statements within the scope of SSARS 21.
- Assist and Supervise the bookkeeping staff for the preparation of:
- 1099 forms
- Business licenses
- Property tax forms
- Sales tax returns
- Payroll tax returns and filings
- Secretary of State filings
- Interface with regulatory agencies.
Qualification:
- Technical knowledge of GAAP, SSARS 21, and cost accounting.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.
- Some public accounting experience is preferred.
- Has effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Can meet deadlines.
- Expertise with Netsuite.
- Strong Microsoft excel skills.
- Familiarity with applications such as bill.com and expensify.com a plus.
