The Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Relay engineering team at SoFi, where we are designing for the future of personal finance. We are looking to extend the Financial Insights component of the product that will help our customers find their path to financial independence by providing them with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to get there. We want to be part of the customers financial journey by providing them timely insights, tailored to their needs, that will establish and build trust. The ideal candidate is collaborative, product-minded, and pragmatic, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of both the code and finished product. At SoFi, we pride ourselves on the collaboration between Product, Design and Engineering and so you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, deploying and continual improvement and evolution. What You'll Do:
* Delivering resilient and scalable code
* Owning and ideating on technical solutions for product requirements and user stories with minimal supervision
* Participating in code and design reviews
* Generating ideas for new initiatives and technologies
* Communicating engineering concepts and efforts with outside stakeholders in product marketing, operations, business, legal, and compliance
* Working in a fast-moving, highly-collaborative environment across multiple offices
What You'll Need:
* You will have graduated and obtained your Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related major (Spring 2023 New Grads or within 1 year of graduation)
* Previous intern experience with software engineering is required
* No more than 12 months of professional full-time work experience
* Reside in the United States and attend a university in the US
* Our core stack is Java/ Kotlin/ Spring / PostgreSQL/ React. Strong familiarity with any OOP language and an understanding of relational databases is a great start.
* Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests.
* Agile Development Experience
* API Design experience
* Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get stuff done
* Solid sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
* Affinity for solving problems and diving deep into the details
