Microbiology Supervisor
Our client is an established pharmaceutical company and is looking for a Microbiology Supervisor to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90,000 – $105,000 based on experience
Position Overview:
The Microbiology Supervisor will help manage the microbiology lab’s daily functions and ensure the lab’s compliance with regulatory and company requirements. The Microbiology Supervisor will manage daily lab activities and ensure microbiological tests are bein conducted properly.
Responsibilities of the Microbiology Supervisor:
- Conduct routine microbiological testing and analysis when needed
- Train direct reports on microbiology techniques and provide coaching and feedback to lab staff
- Create weekly schedules, order supplies, and maintain inventory
- Oversee lab results and ensure data integrity
- Monitor calibration of microbiology instruments, and troubleshoot lab activities and equipment
- Ensure lab practices are in compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements
- Handle documentation including CAPAs, SOPs, out of specification, and non-conformance
- Conduct investigations, audits, and validations
- Prepare KPIs and summary reports for investigations
- Support LIMS system
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to complete projects and achieve company goals
Qualifications for the Microbiology Supervisor:
- 5+ years of experience in a cGMP regulated pharmaceutical microbiology environment
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of cGMP and FDA guidelines
- Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and problem-solving skills
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Microbiology or related science is preferred
