Assistant Controller

As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. Responsibilities
- Warrant regular account reconciliation to completion
- Support the accounting team during the closing process to confirm deadlines are met
- Develop relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics
- Progressive preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
- Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- Support the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
- Compose diverse procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
- Support accountability and the meeting of deliverables
- Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
- Maintain implementation and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Skills/Qualifications
- Understanding GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedure
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA a plus
- Complete understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Previous accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
- 7+ years of experience in the senior accountant role
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress a plus
- Solid understanding of Proper Revenue Recognition
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
