Jana Chapman with Robert Half Finance Accounting is searching for a determined Controller who is eager to contribute their skill to a distinguished Healthcare company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. You will join the leadership team in supporting the generation of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, challenging the status quo, and fostering creativity in your department. This Controller position is a full-time opportunity based South of Portland. Your responsibilities - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports - Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis - Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations - Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

Job Requirements

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are highly preferred - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment - Strong attention to detail - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Vow to meet business deadlines - Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Knowledge of billing - Solid understanding of Revenue Cycle - Month end closings experience - Deep understanding of medical billing - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
