Are you passionate about leading a team of dedicated professionals in providing exceptional veterinary care? Look no further! Downtown Animal Care Center (DACC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Director to join our esteemed team.


At DACC, we pride ourselves on being a full-service small animal hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services. Our commitment to excellence extends to high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter procedures. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including an in-house Idexx lab, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and Cornerstone for electronic medical records, we ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of care. Collaborating with skilled technicians and utilizing the services of an orthopedic surgeon as needed, we facilitate over 15 surgeries per day. Moreover, our dedication to the community is reflected in our partnerships with 10+ rescue organizations.


Nestled in the vibrant Art District on Santa Fe in downtown Denver, our hospital offers an enriching work environment surrounded by 30+ art galleries, studios, craft breweries, and authentic Mexican restaurants. Additionally, the area boasts numerous outdoor activities year-round, from hiking and biking to skiing and snowboarding.


Position Overview:


As our Medical Director (MD), you will play a pivotal role in leading our hospital to new heights. Responsibilities include providing strong leadership, managing and mentoring associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a culture of teamwork and excellence in patient care. In partnership with the leadership team, you will oversee practice operations and contribute to the financial health of the hospital. The MD also serves as a staff veterinarian, upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.


Compensation:


We offer a competitive salary range of$140,000 to $165,000with options for sign-on of$50,000and relocation.

  • Maintain high-quality veterinary care standards.

  • Set medical policies and oversee clinical practice.

  • Manage patient care, client complaints, and staff scheduling.

  • Lead by example, monitoring DVM performance and providing mentorship.

  • Identify new service opportunities and contribute to practice growth.

Qualifications:



  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree

  • 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred
