We are working with a local employer looking for a Payroll Specialist Job in Portland, OR. This client has been in the area since the 1960’s, is experiencing huge growth right now and provides a positive and professional environment. This is a contract to hire position which has the propensity to convert to a permanent position in 60-90 days. They are targeting compensation at $19-24 /hr DOE.
Payroll Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Process all payroll related transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Process Bi-weekly multi-state payroll
- Maintain and modify employee payroll records as needed
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Prepare other periodic special reports
- Minimum two years of experience with payroll administration
- Ideal candidate has a minimum of two years’ experience using ADP or Paychex
- Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong initiative and ability to manage competing priorities
- Basic understanding of human resource rules and regulations including those related to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.
