Work Hours/Shift:

•           Monday - Froday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Supports the administration of the radiation safety program including compliance with all regulating and certifying agencies, training of staff and supervision of source ordering, handling, waste removal and disposa
  • Actively participates in developing new programs and technologies such as information management, treatment planning and new modalities
  • Performs weekly chart reviews and other checks of treatment plans
  • Performs dosimetric calculations for external beam, brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy
  • Provides medical physics consultation to physicians, staff and patients as needed
  • Participates in the quality assurance of linear accelerators, simulators, HDR units and any other radiation therapy treatment device
  • Assists with acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment
  • Assists in physics coverage of other Hospital Radiation Oncology locations as directed by Chief Therapy Physicist
  • Transports and moves patients and equipment as needed in performance of assigned duties
  • Prepares patient treatment planning related data as requested from authorization for release of protected health information records release
Qualifications
What Will You Need:        
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master’s degree in Physics

• Completion of CAMPED certified residency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• N/A

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Current Part 1 and 2 certifications by the American Board of Radiology

• Active Florida Temporary Medical Physics license

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• N/A

Job Summary:

Participates in the quality care of our patients by providing medical physics services at or above the State and Federal requirements as well as meeting any national standards of care in radiation oncology. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful of all.
