This position is responsible for supporting/assisting other resource specialists in recruitment and retention of resource homes. Additional duties include maintaining accurate and current demographic, service, placement location and billing information for all clients placed in agency resource homes.
- Responsible for the recruitment of potential foster care providers. This includes placing advertisements, interviewing, screening and coordinating approval of foster parents.
- Participates in development and oversight of annual recruitment and retention plan, which will be data driven and articulates the activities, resources, and persons responsible.
- Provide realistic information to potential applicants about foster parenting, including frequency of children in RFP, TFC, and ITFC programs and children with challenging behaviors.
- Responsible for making initial contact with families who inquire within 24 hours of inquiry. Ensure that families are provided with application materials.
- Attends CWS collaborative meetings for recruitment as scheduled; participates in the development, planning and implementation of joint recruitment activities of these collaborative meetings
- Maintains an ongoing list of families who have expressed interest in foster care or adoption programs and send periodic correspondence to them.
- Assist in maintaining ongoing contact with the Department of Human Services (DHS) regarding clients and resource homes.
- Assist in entering all client demographic and service information into internal client database system at time of admission to agency.
- Maintain/enter accurate current client service information in client database system.
Other Duties Include, But Not Limited To
- Participate in training and development activities as required.
- Assist with preparation and execution of internal and external audits.
- Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
- Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per Eckerd policy and state guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Work or related field required.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in social services, or a combination of education and experience. Experience working with foster care programs, event planning, marketing and public speaking are preferred.
Working Hours: This position will be in on-call rotation.
Skills: Computer literate with basic computer operations, skills in typing, and experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, including PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent/strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written communication skills, with respectful and courteous nature. Knowledge of social services, child welfare and family systems services. Culturally sensitive to the needs and diversities of multicultural communities. Ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and ethnicities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Able to work independently, demonstrating good judgment and prioritizing. Must be accurate and detail oriented. Practices good customer service skills in all working relationships. Ability to work as a member of a team. Must be energetic, enthusiastic and encouraging.
Travel: Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must maintain a valid and appropriate driver’s license. Must maintain a safe driving record, and provide annual proof of appropriate auto insurance.
