The Growth and Outreach  Liaison/Trauma PI Coordinator reporting to the Hospital CEO with a strong dotted line reporting relationship to the HSC Vice President Growth & Outreach,  is responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts specifically with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, other area hospitals, EMS and other potential referral sources with-in the hospital’s primary, secondary and tertiary service areas and maximizing referral and redirection opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient services.  This position is focused on continuous improvements that result in improved experiences for both patients and providers within our facility, this position works closely with the Trauma and Physician Outreach Teams.

Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator:
Works with the Trauma Program manager to manage, maintain and coordinate the performance improvement activities The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for day to day activities related to the performance improvement and patient safety plan. The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator works collaboratively with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to coordinate, implement, and maintain performance improvement programs based on HRMC’s statistical data. The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator participates in state and regional injury performance improvement activities.


Create and maintain a target list of referral sources, develop and implement an annual growth and outreach business plan and provide input in the development and implementation of marketing plans for all service lines. Utilizes CRM to document and optimize outreach to referral sources.

Organize and conduct meetings with key providers and practice staff (nurses, referral coordinators, practice man-agers) to discover their needs to support patient care and to develop rapport. Majority of time should be spent on physically visiting and interacting with providers, provider office staff and facilities in the specific area of responsibility

Provide regular communication and updates to HSC VP and/or Sr Director Growth and Outreach. Attend weekly conference calls and other onsite meetings as determined by VP Growth and Outreach

Communicate activity level and identifies all issue resolution opportunities with hospital leaders along with timely follow up with referral sources to remove barriers to growth.

Develop customized engagement strategies, approach and tactics for each provider and/industry to drive growth and additional business opportunities.

Arrange and facilitate introductions of new and employed providers/specialists to targeted referral prospects to reinforce clinical engagement and referral process.

Arrange introductions and regular engagement of facility’s clinical services, access points and specialists to new and all providers.

Facilitate attendance at educational programs and other opportunities/events to connect specialists with targeted providers.

Document each provider encounter including any open requests/issues and follow up plan in CRM, which tracks activities, progress and outcomes.

Collaborate with Marketing to develop specific plans in support of employed physician practices and hospital service lines.

Gather and maintain complete, accurate knowledge of clinical services in order to fully support compelling dialogue with referral sources.

Serve as a resource to organizational leaders for market and competitive intelligence.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Exhibit an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.            

Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator:
Performs chart review for those trauma patients meeting criteria for PIPS/Peer Review.

Responsible for maintaining the tracking system for case reviews, audit filters, and PIPS and Peer Review (MTPIC) reports.

Prepares cases for review by the Trauma Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager and Peer Review (MTPIC).

Ensures loop closure on all identified issues

Provides monthly and ad hoc reports for the trauma program

Provides education to hospital staff and physicians regarding performance improvement for identified issues.

Develops and reports trauma audit filters information to the trauma program and Trauma Medical Director

Other duties as assigned by the Trauma Program Manager

Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in Nursing 

Licensures Required Upon Hire
AZ RN License or acceptable Compact State License        
Driver’s License and Proof of valid

Minimum Work Experience Required 
Three+ years of Pharmaceutical/Medical/Healthcare Sales Experience
Working Knowledge of Healthcare Industry.
Two years of experience in relevant clinical nursing areas (ED/Trauma/ICU).

Continuing education required within six (6) months of hire:
Must take TOPIC course within 6 months of hire and maintain 16 hours of trauma related education annually 

Required Skills
Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Automated Dispensing Cabinets, Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer. As pertinent to the position, must be able to use computer, telephone, calculator and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job. Must be able to perform tasks and duties of IV pharmacy technicians and pharmacy technicians. Must have a positive attitude, even temperament in stress/conflict situations. Must demonstrate effective leadership, communication and training skills.
     
Business Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
Moderate Computer Skills – Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment. Minimal overnight travel (less than 10%) by land and/or air.
