Lot Technician Summary

The Lot Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the sales lot and keeping all inventory in presentable condition. The Lot Technician also assists the Sales Department by checking in all used and new trucks and equipment. This position also performs other duties such as facility cleaning, general housekeeping, minor maintenance, and general support for the store.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect trucks and equipment
  • General housekeeping and minor maintenance of the facility
  • Provide general assistance to all departments
  • Accurately completes necessary paperwork
  • Installs company logo material on trucks and equipment
  • Washes, details, and steam cleans interior and exterior of trucks and equipment
  • Ensures sales lot is kept in a neat and organized manner in accordance with dealership standards
  • Performs general lot maintenance and equipment cleaning including snow removal
  • Takes physical inventory on a regular basis
  • Battery maintenance, check fluids, and replenish fuel when necessary
  • Shuttles trucks to and from customer locations

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements of the Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in truck, heavy equipment, and/or automotive environment preferred
  • Ability to read English and comprehend instructions and information
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to represent the company with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
  • Must have or the ability to obtain a valid CDL and Health Card in accordance with all applicable regulations
  • Must possess clean driving record
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary
