Scheduling Secretary Family Medicine Full Time
The Scheduler is responsible for acting as a liaison and for scheduling referrals to specialists, hospitals, and other community resources.
Follow established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
Schedules referrals to specialist offices, hospitals, community resources and all other agencies.
Obtains prior authorization for all procedures and diagnostic tests as necessary.
Follows current policy as applies to proper documentation of referrals.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Attends meetings as required.
Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.
Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Computer and/or keyboarding skills required.
Excellent human relations and oral/written communication.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to function as part of a team.
Ability to deal with change.
Demonstrates a positive attitude towards problem solving and initiating continuous improvement.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of regulations pertaining to prior authorization of tests and treatments.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Work Experience Required: One year experience in a medical office.
