Kforce has a client that is seeking a Field Service Engineers in Los Angeles, CA. The Field Service Engineers (Medical Device) is the responsible for providing highly visible onsite and remote technical support. Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs complex product installations and support of medical device capital equipment at customer sites
  • Primarily US based but may occasionally need to assist with international customers
  • Troubleshoots, services, repairs and provides exceptional support at customer locations
  • Schedules and conducts Preventative Maintenance (PMs) of products at customer sites as required
  • Manages and maintains stock of inventory, company equipment and documents that are necessary for servicing related activities
  • Acts as a liaison between the Company and customers on quality and performance of products
  • Demonstrates and utilizes critical thinking in assessment of performance and risks associated with installed medical devices
  • Supports Account Managers in field as needed
  • Works with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams while onsite and between service calls to ensure high quality products are designed, manufactured and delivered to customers on-time
  • Works under limited guidance
  • Contributions impact the overall team's objectives
  • Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation; Exercises judgment within generally defined practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions; Interprets data and draws conclusions regarding results used in presented material


  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related (biomedical or medical field service) capital equipment experience and an Associate's degree in a scientific/engineering discipline, or 3 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 2 years of experience and a Master's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must demonstrate mutual respect, ongoing communication and a positive outlook with both internal team members and customers
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% with short notice
  • High level of initiation and customer service is important for this role, as this role requires working in a small team
  • Experience effectively working with medical professionals in a collaborative manner and troubleshooting/resolving technical issues is preferred
  • Knowledge of recording systems, stimulators, ultrasound, mapping systems and diagnostic and therapeutic catheters is preferred
  • Engineering experience working in a medical facility, Cath Lab, or Cardiovascular environment is preferred
  • Past experience and proven track record of success in working with electromedical equipment
  • Ability to quickly assess technical problems and find a solution or determine how to elevate it appropriately, while under pressure situations
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency; Regularly collaborates with others in suggesting valuable solutions as an active contributor
  • Must be able to understand job duties and responsibilities, have the necessary skills/knowledge and be willing and able to continue learning and growing within the field
