We are looking for a Senior BIM Designer to join our multi-disciplinary team in New York City. BIM Designers play a critical role in delivering high-quality data enriched models and the resulting drawings to our clients. Within the Arup team, this involves overall project planning, detailed design development, and coordination between all teams, handling and adhering to office/client BIM standards. BIM Designers are at the forefront of digital production innovations (automation and data accessibility) and be able to implement new tools on the fly and train others to do the same.

The Building Information Modelling skills network is a global group of specialists, modelers, coordinators, developers, designers, and BIM project managers and consultants within Arup. We use our collective talents to deliver technology-led solutions to clients, and in doing so help transform the way that cities, buildings, and physical networks are planned and delivered.

Our team serves as a motivator for automation across Arup. Every day we use cloud-based web applications, novel automation workflows, geospatial tools, data analytics, and more to advance the design and delivery of airports, rail networks, urban infrastructure, bridges, tunnels, skyscrapers, and other key components of the built environment. Our team members are involved in the full life cycle of digitally modeled solutions, from conceptualization to requirements gathering, design, development, delivery as constructed and digital twins.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Be responsible for the BIM project result and contractual requirements, collaborate with the project management team to develop and mitigate risk in the production or review of project BIM execution plans. Ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams.

+ Lead and Coordinate BIM project data sets/workflows and project set up. Develop workflows to review BIM models to ensure model data is consistent and aligned with project contractual requirements and model health checks.

+ Direct Collaboration with the engineering design teams to develop multi-discipline BIM models. Develop logically organized, easy to read accurate construction drawings from the team models.

+ Providing insight from data, developing, and implementing workflows that highlight organizational change, code compliance, and interference checking issues in the project models. Hosting VDR and CDR project meetings to resolve issues. Proactively communicating design coordination issues to the design team and implementing their resolution.

+ Providing technical support and mentoring as required for the project team. Developing digital inception plans with project managers, hosting training, onboarding and BIM Kick off sessions, and preparing support training documentation.

+ Leading all incoming and outgoing project model and drawing information. Reviewing project team models and drawings to ensure the overall design fits together and satisfies each team's delivery stage requirements and maintain an accurate copy of all issued content. Including coordinating critical and confidential information in line with authority SSI guidelines.

+ Champion, promote, and lead standard methodologies in BIM project delivery. At the project and regional BIM team level, actively practice and support ongoing improvements to our automation tools, software, and standard methodology workflows.

+ Digital Engineering Communication, represent Arup's interests in external meetings, through written and oral/presentations. Documenting lessons learned and communicating methods and outcomes to the regional BIM team.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Architectural Technology, or Computer Science

+ Validated experience working in the building design/construction industry.

+ Interest and passion for all aspects of the built environment and how ideas become reality.

+ Proficiency in a recognized BIM authoring platform - Revit, Tekla, Open Roads/Rail, or similar.

+ Proficiency in a recognized CAD authoring platform - AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar.

+ Proficiency in a recognized Modelling authoring platform - Rhino, Solid works, or similar.

+ Proficiency in a recognized Coordination authoring platform or application - Navisworks, Solibri, Revizto, or similar.

+ Appreciation or Proficiency of programming or visual scripting such as Python, Grasshopper, Dynamo.

+ Strong leadership skills, the ability to organize and prioritize effectively, balance and delegate work for BIM teams on large projects, develop and be responsible for the implementation of BIM project plans.

+ Presentation skills, strong interpersonal / communication skills, and team collaboration skills crucial for developing a team and building internal and external client relations.

**New York City Hiring Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York City is $ **98,400** to $ **133,000** per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York City will differ.
