The Paralegal- Real Estate supports the Division President in Division related tasking not limited to research, prepare documents, and manage all documents and workflow by performing the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Updates and maintains responsibility for the division system/ database used to maintain any company related documents for the Division President required access.
  • Performs administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail.
  • Assists in preparation of division documents such as contracts, buy-sell agreements, leases, deeds, trust instruments, and memoranda for review, approval, and use by the Division and coordination of Corporate Legal Counsel.
  • Prepares affidavits of documents and maintains document file.
  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, legal articles, and local jurisdiction legal codes.
  • Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.
  • Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skills
  • Industry knowledge in Real Estate, Home Building is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Strong computer capabilities
  • Paralegal Certificate is preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret statutes, contracts and other legal documents
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong team player; works with diverse groups of people
  • Commitment to company values and customer service
    • Ability and willingness to work effectively with coworkers, senior management, and Corporate Legal staff
 
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience and understanding of real estate and contracts are a must
  • Paralegal Certificate is preferred
