Job Summary

F/T Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm. This shift will likely change to 9:00am-5:00pm but when that will occur is unknown. Fast-paced setting handling routine functions of the reception desk. Responsible for greeting guests in a confident, helpful and positive manner. Provide direction; handle phone system; prepare general correspondence; sort and distribute internal and external mail along with supplying information about Village Shalom to visitors, clients, customers and general public. Candidate must enjoy working with the elderly and greeting the public. Previous reception or customer service experience preferred.

Due to COVID-19, the Receptionist is also responsible for taking and logging temperatures for all staff, contractors and vendors. Each person has their temperature taken twice per shift.

Essential Job Functions include:
• Creates a positive first impression of Village Shalom.
• Is familiar with and able to execute specific emergency functions including notification to key staff in the event of an emergency.
• Receives, opens, sorts and distributes mail, including forwarding based on company guidelines.
• Handles all courier receipts and deliveries following policy.
• Ensures completion of visitor/resident sign-in/out processes
• Performs daily tasks as outlined.
• Maintains accurate phone list.
• Enters work orders accurately and timely.
• Performs varied administrative work as assigned.
• Maintains knowledge of key staff movement.
• Monitors visitor access and ensuring security awareness.
• Maintaining reception area.
• Presents appropriate professional appearance.
• Maintains confidentiality in conformance with agency confidentiality policy and State laws and regulations
• Exercises good judgment.
• Promotes departmental teamwork by building positive working relationships with Reception staff and providing assistant to others as needed.
• Cross-trains on all aspects of Receptionist position.
• Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations, takes appropriate immediate action.
