We are seeking Paint Process Engineer for our North Baltimore, Ohio Plant.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Specify, design, implement, and track the improvement of robot path programming and optimization of manipulator, applicator, and fluid delivery process.

  • Equipment specification and procurement, including acting as liaison to builders, customers, and production for paint process and fluid delivery process.

  • Coordination of trial runs and quality improvement for the paint process.

  • Implement cost-reduction improvements for both new and existing equipment/processes.

  • Technical support to all Production and Engineering operations for improvement programs.

  • Working knowledge of paint department processes and principles, including latest technologies.

  • General knowledge of production control / scheduling systems.

  • Good analytical / problem-solving skills.

  • Blueprint reading skills.

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis.

  • General MS-Office skills, Excel and Access.

  • ABB IRB 5400 experience a plus.

  • ABB IRB 5500 experience a plus.

  • Fanuc P-250 experience a plus.

  • Modicon PLC experience a plus.

  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF16949 requirements.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming.

  • Strong knowledge of paint application process.

  • Basic knowledge of machining / tooling; and electrical / schematics.


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum one year automotive manufacturing experience with paint systems.

  • Fanuc or related robotic controls and systems.

  • Paint shop and production floor environment overtime of varying levels will be required with this position and target work times will be afternoon shift or a split day/afternoon shift.
