IT Business Analyst

Shaw University Raleigh, NC (Onsite) Full-Time
Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the IT Business Analyst provides maintenance and support of the University's data systems. Core duties include developing and testing scripts to provide data integration between an SQL-based ERP system and several ancillary systems. The IT Business Analyst works collaboratively as a member on project teams to design and implement solutions related to identity management, authentication and data exports/imports.

Essential Job Functions:

* Provide system administration and maintenance of the University's identity management and SSO infrastructure.
* Design and implement data automation and integration services between disparate systems.
* Develop and maintain SQL queries, dashboards, scripts and reports.
* Ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the University's databases and information systems.
* Provides proactive monitoring of website performance, addressing issues when they arise.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals and SOP guides.
* Works collaboratively with team of IT professionals to support the mission of the University.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

* BS/BA in computer science, business administration or related major OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Problem solving and troubleshooting skills, including ability to perform root cause analysis design and recommend preventative activities.
* Advanced knowledge of SAML, CAS and LDAP authentication implementations
* Experience with SSO solutions and federated identity
* Strong customer service skills.
* Minimum of 3 years of customer support experience in higher education preferred.
* Experience working with clients in requirements gathering.
* Excellent written and verbal skills.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying, climbing stairs. Specific vision abilities include the ability to use close vision. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel in an environment typical of an office.
