Accounting Research Manager
Primary responsibilities are as follows:
Creation and review of Client accounting policies, accounting research (FASB, SEC, EITF) related to specific transactions or new businesses, participation with EEI/AGA in advocating industry technical accounting positions to standard setters, due diligence projects, accounting standard implementation and specialized assistance for SEC reporting. Assist in the development of the application of accounting methods. policies and procedures. Act as consultant to management as it relates to the attainment of business objectives. Assist in implementation/consideration of new accounting pronouncements, including the new guidance on credit losses, and their effects on Client and its subsidiaries. Analyze new businesses and new transactions and determine appropriate accounting alternatives under GAAP. Monitor the effectiveness of policies and procedures to accomplish objectives. Develop and document new processes for accounting for new business transactions. Assist in SEC reporting.
Accounting degree with current CPA certification.
Five to twelve years of mixed public accounting and industry experience.
Strong working knowledge of overall GAAP.
Experience in SEC reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
