Administrative Assistant/Assistant to the Vice Presidents

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting the general business of OCPDI
  • Corresponding by email and phone with internal AAC&U staff and external members and affiliates
  • Coordinating travel and managing calendar assignments for the Vice Presidents, and others, as assigned
  • Organizing calendar for OCPDI meetings
  • Developing and maintaining spreadsheets and data entry for contacts, programs, and projects
  • Preparing letters, PPT presentations, and other written and visual materials as needed
  • Editing programs, brochures, letters, and other written materials
  • Support the development and maintenance of OCPDI web pages
  • Preparing and handling mailings
  • Processing expense reimbursements and bills
  • Managing specified budget records, conference calls, and webinars
  • Maintaining and organizing OCPDI electronic files and supplies
  • Collaborating with other OCPDI staff and internal offices on the logistics and program for institutes and conferences led by OCPDI
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of work experience is required (preferably in the higher education sector)
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and editing skills
  • Database management skills, including familiarity with Access and Excel
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with an understanding of larger contexts
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Dependability, flexibility, and strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work both collaboratively, as a member of a team, and independently to accomplish goals
  • Effective time management skills; ability to balance and set priorities among many tasks and meet deadlines
  • Interest in higher education issues, particularly related to teaching and learning and student success
  • Willingness to learn new skills to meet the evolving needs of the office
  • Self-directed ability to thrive in a fast-paced advocacy organization at the center of higher education reform


DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of webpage design programs

This role is a hybrid position. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $55,000-65,000. The position is full-time and based in Washington, DC. Excellent benefits. Please submit a letter of interest with salary requirements and résumé to
