Medline Industries has an opportunity available for an Associate Director QA (Lab & Diagnostics) based at our Northfield, IL headquarters. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing QA functions for Lab and Diagnostics Product Divisions and has responsibility for Quality Assurance and Quality Control for product lines that includes, but not limited to, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, glucose meters, syringes, needles, sharps containers, lab supplies and rapid tests manufactured and distributed by Medline. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid education and experience along with a desire to work for a fast-paced, large corporate organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude.  .
  • Manage day to day activities of quality control unit. Hire, train and supervise staff. Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation. Ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable International, Federal and State regulations pertaining to Medical product design, manufacturing and distribution. Investigate, isolate, and recommend solutions for issues relating to the quality of products, auditing domestic and foreign suppliers for conformance to all applicable requirements and assist vendors, manufacturing partners, and product managers in developing and implementing QA programs.
  • Coordinate with the Divisions, Quality and Suppliers to ensure quality products, on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Provide Quarterly Management review reports to Division President, and oversee QSR for contractors and audit where needed. 
  • Manage and direct the development of product specifications including developing, qualifying, and implementing testing requirements, procedures, and methods for testing, inspecting or qualifying products/new products. Focus on continuous improvement of products and processes. Update procedures and policies as needed to maintain compliance and improve. Conduct Customer and Sales Rep presentations and training
  • Work with customers to ensure all quality issues are resolved to their satisfaction. Montior and trend data and reports to assure continuous improvement and identify additional opportunities to improve. 
  • Assist vendors, manufacturing partners, and product managers in developing and implementing QA programs.
  • Resolve issues relating to product or production quality by interfacing with manufacturing, operations and customers. Oversee QSR for contractors and perform ISO, QSR and internal audits as needed.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in a science related or manufacturing related field.
Relevant Work Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Engineering or Quality Control area of responsibility.
  • Experience working with QSR/GMP/ISO requirements and compliance.
Additional
  • At least 5 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
  • Experience working with QSR/GMP/ISO requirements and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of ANSI or other sampling tables.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, AATCC standards and test methods.
  • Experience in controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
  • Experience in processing all relevant details, understanding and prioritizing their importance and drawing clear and concise conclusions.
  • Willing to travel up 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
