bioMerieux has an opening for a Travel & Relocation Manager to be based in Durham, North Carolina.
The Travel & Relocation Manager will advise, lead and support travel and domestic relocation programs for team members and candidates.
•Manage regional corporate travel initiatives within the overall Global Travel program
•Recommend, develop, and execute strategies/policies to achieve key business objectives in collaboration with senior management both in the near term and long-term perspective
•Identify process efficiencies, drive program compliance, maximize discounts and improve customer experience
•Oversee the administration of the company’s on-line travel booking tool, including processing reservations, troubleshooting, and providing general training and navigational support to end-users
•The incumbent is customer focused, employs excellent judgment, discretion and customer service skills. They build and maintain strong working relationships across the organization, interact with all levels of associates including senior management, and they understand the travel requirements in order provide best practice travel solutions.
•They are the point of escalation for urgent, sensitive issues and information, including Leadership Team and their assistants. Resolves issues when travelers are stranded or delayed due to weather related problems or other errors and problems related to travel bookings.
•Manage reward programs, which may include airline, hotel, car rental programs and others
•Develop and analyze key internal travel related metrics to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings
•Make recommendations for travel process improvement and cost savings
•Monitoring vendor relationships and performance
•Analyze travel data to understand travel activity and behaviors and provides reports to senior management along with guidance
•Participate in discussions with Purchasing on contracts for rates with service providers
•Provide advice on travel documents, insurance, import/export regulations etc.
•Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures and policies
•Assist employees with various relocation activities
•Assist in connecting the employee with the outside relocation vendor for housing, transfer of personal items and office supplies
•Compile, organize and submit and track employee relocation expenses
•Conducts relocation research for employees
•Ensures payments are made for reimbursements
•Responsible for policies and procedures covering all aspects of employee relocation and vendor management
•Participate in discussions with Purchasing on vendor contract negotiations and accountability for monitoring relocation costs
•Bachelor’s degree is required
• 6+ years experience in corporate travel or relocation preferred
•Knowledge of travel & relocation reporting and processing
•Understanding of relocation taxation
•Strong knowledge of MS Office programs
•Excellent communication (oral and written) and negotiation skills
•Well-organized and reliable
•An analytical mind with strong business acumen
•Effective strategic thinking, planning and visioning capabilities
•Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously and independently
