IT Support Applications Engineer - Health Care

One of our clients, a leading health insurance provider based outside of Boston, is looking to hire an IT Support Applications Engineer on a contract basis. The Applications Engineer will provide daily customer assistance to end-users and will help implement new applications and upgrades for the contact and support teams. The ideal candidate for this role is resourceful, demonstrates initiative, and has a substantial background in contact service technologies. Responsibilities:
  • Providing IT support by diagnosing, troubleshooting and solving problems; using established procedures and working with other teams to resolve issues efficiently
  • Assisting with the installation of new applications, system infrastructure, voice messaging software, upgrades, patches, performance tuning, and related problem-solving
  • Understanding the strategy for the contact process, and serving as a resource on technical details during planning
  • Staying up to date with current industry trends and technical knowledge
  • Supporting engineering projects as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in IT customer service or a contact center; experience with contact center systems (queuing, call recording, agent scheduling, and interactive voice response) a plus
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating environments
  • Organized, able to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with stakeholders of all levels
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
