Job description
Manna Treatment is a nonprofit organization that provides therapy at 3 levels of care: PHP, IOP, and outpatient. We are currently interested in the applicant that has a knowledge of how to work with eating disorders as well as the underlying trauma providing care at all three levels. The position would be working in a team environment that is supportive and thrives on direct communication.
This position would start out as part time, and would grow into a full time position. Our current therapists are full with clients and we are in need of an individual who can start within the next two weeks.
This position is hourly and does not provide benefits. However, if this is a good fit between Manna and you, you can work into a full-time, salaried, with benefits position.
Manna is also very education-driven and we have two meetings per week that provide education and supervision.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Clinical Director the Program Therapist provides treatment services to all types of clients in the outpatient, IOP, and PHP programs. Duties and responsibilities include providing clinical services in group, family, and individual therapy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates client admissions/discharges with the Admission/Discharge Coordinator.
- Responsible for providing individual and group psychological services for assigned clients.
- Responsible for the clinical management of his/her assigned clients, including the weekly privilege lists and schedules, bi-weekly treatment plans, and identifying treatment/contract needs/goals.
- Serves as the primary contact for any client concerns and is responsible for maintaining contact with the client’s referring/outpatient therapist and ancillary service providers during the course of the client’s stay and the family when/if appropriate.
- Responsible for conducting Utilization Reviews with the insurance company’s Case Manager as needed.
- May attend meals, snacks, and other activities in the milieu to better establish a relationship with clients that provides a more comprehensive understanding current behaviors and relational dynamics.
- Will attend weekly treatment team meetings and share observations, comments, and important information about clients.
- Responsible for proper charting and ensuring that all documentation is completed in a timely manner (within 48 hours).
- Responsible for discharge planning, including a written discharge summary, and obtaining referral sources and necessary support systems once the client is discharged.
- Depending on the Primary Therapist’s credentials and/or licensure, s/he may be asked to serve as a preceptor to graduate students while they are completing an internship. In this capacity, they will be responsible for overseeing student’s progress, holding supervisory sessions, and completing any necessary documentation as outlined in the affiliation agreement.
- May be assigned additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Practice constant communication amongst medical, clinical, and administrative staff to ensure quality of clinical care and promote recovery.
- Collaborate with clinical managers to monitor and ensure staff compliance in clinical practices and documentation per federal and state regulations and conduct trainings to maintain CARF accreditation.
- Participate in quarterly chart audits for qualitative and quantitative assurance.
- Engage in monthly peer review (i.e. treatment team, Utilization Manager, Clinical and Medical Directors, etc.) to ensure and maintain standards of quality and improve performance.
- Collaborate with CEO for research, marketing and outreach opportunities.
- Provide clinical services to persons served as appropriate and/or to the extent possible.
- Maintain clinical license, successfully complete all competency requirements, and attend all mandatory trainings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or other relevant health related discipline. Fully licensed as a clinical psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or provisionally licensed as APC, MSW, or AMFT in the state of Georgia. A minimum of 2+ years recent related experience working with eating disorders, addictions, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory/managerial position is preferred, particularly within an outpatient behavioral health program with a variety of therapeutic services/providers. Must be able to perform well under occasionally stressful conditions or circumstances, including critical behavioral incidents or emergency/crisis situations.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Current and valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Active professional Georgia license to conduct counseling services.
- Copy of college or higher education degree.
- Adequate liability insurance.
- Background criminal check upon hire and prior to providing direct services to person served.
- CPR/AED and CPI certification required upon hire, or training will occur during orientation or at next available training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Professional level of knowledge in the areas of clinical evaluation, diagnoses, SMART treatment planning, empirically researched counseling/therapy modalities, principles of human behavior and learning, multiculturalism, and patient care management concepts.
- Knowledge of clinical documentation compliance standards according to federal and state regulations, including HIPPA, OSHA, CARF, and insurance regulations is required.
- Strong clinical and leadership skills to effectively manage staff providing direct services to person served.
- Ability to provide clinical services to adolescent and adult populations with knowledge of multicultural needs.
- Ability to conduct analytical evaluations and prepare reports as necessary to monitor program strengths, effectiveness, and needs.
- Strong communication skills to perform open and ongoing communication between all involved parties in the provision of treatment for persons served.
- Ability to present ideas and information clearly and efficiently, in both oral and written form, as well as to follow oral and written directions.
- Adaptability in performing a variety of duties, occasionally changing from one task to another of a different nature with minimal disturbance of efficiency or professional composure.
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products and online databases.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
At minimum, this position requires near-vision acuity, hearing in normal range, manual dexterity, and motor coordination. Also, physical ability to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers/copiers, fax machine, telephone, server, and calculator. Long periods of sitting may occur when conducting both counseling and administrative tasks. In most cases, physical demands are at a level of those for sedentary or office environment work which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of light to moderate weight materials (approximately thirty pounds or less).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the required duties of this position, the employee may be moderately exposed to crisis situations with persons served; however, the likelihood of bodily injury or similar occupational hazard is minimal. Must have flexibility to adjust to clinical and administrative tasks as needed. Overall, the working environment is quiet, calm, and comfortable.
COMPENSATION
Compensation is dependent on years’ experience and license.
