Robert Half Finance has an exciting position available for an Accounting Clerk for a well respected, growing organization. In this role, you will match invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, enter data and assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes. You will work with a dynamic team in a great work space/office and have excellent benefits and great career advancement opportunity. This position is a full-time role and is located in the Birmingham, Alabama area. How you will make an impact - Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes - Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable - Add financial information to journals and ledgers - General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects - File vendor invoices and disbursements and match file A/P invoices to support accounts payable - Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned - Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required - Create statements and reports that require the use of a number of sources

Job Requirements
