Fit is seeking a skilledProcurement Specialistfor a well established company in Mobile, AL. This candidate would accomplish project objectives by planning, purchasing, and tracking material deliveries for projects, along with manage costs, schedules, and quality of both materials and services. Salary is in the $60-70K range, depending on experience with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Procurement Status Report to track and communicate project progress
  • Coordinate discrepancies with Receiving to ensure alignment with conditions as listed on the Purchase Order details (note that items are received correctly per schedule and per specifications)
  • Source vendors for different types of materials and products – interview them if necessary to determine product quality, capabilities, dependability, cost, and terms of sales
  • Process Requisitions and Purchase Orders for job materials in a timely manner (includes verifying accuracy, terminology, and specifications of job requirements)
  • Allocate items from stock into the Job Section of the ERP system and order items which are not in stock
  • Place orders and process job requisition with order information
  • Track purchase orders on jobs, maintain delivery schedule, arrange freight if required
  • Check costing at completion of a job by printing traveler for the Receiving Department to check for items not issued
  • Monitor Inventory Control through the year and for the end of year audit
  • Prepare Reports regarding Vendor Costs for several years for comparisons for market conditions and audits
  • Resolve vendor or contract grievances and claims against suppliers (this includes handling freight claims for damaged goods received)

    Qualifications

    • 10 years of relevant industrial experience in procurement required
    • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in related field is preferred
    • Knowledge and understanding of contract language and commercial terms\/conditions
    • Working knowledge of INCO terms
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
    • Proficient use of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
    • Familiarity of ASME code materials
    • Attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
    • Excellent listening and communication skills (verbal and written)
