Description Are you an electrical engineer/physicist skilled in using radio-frequency (RF) hardware and the associated software to characterize engineered materials and devices? Do you have expertise in calibrating and operating RF systems composed of antennas, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators? Do you have an interest in building systems with RF components such as mixers, amplifiers, filters, and detectors? Do you love solving physics and engineering problems involving the development and prototyping of engineered materials and devices for manipulating electromagnetic fields? Do you have the skills and interest to directly guide the fabrication of printed circuit boards populated with subwavelength periodic arrays of elements and integrated with custom and off-the-shelf electronic components? As a RF and Electromagnetics Research Engineer/Physicist, you will join a team of computational and experimental staff members who are passionate about developing innovative solutions that can impact the future development and application of electromagnetic devices and materials. Our team is committed to scientific excellence and continuous improvement in an agile environment. We are seeking a creative RF engineer/physicist to help us fulfill the technical needs of existing projects and help in growing new ones. The scope of the projects will range from fundamental discovery through advanced prototype demonstration. As a member of our team, you 'll contribute to research that ties numerical models to real-world transitioned technologies. As a RF and Electromagnetics Research Engineer/Physicist, you will: Work closely with our modeling and simulation team to oversee the fabrication of prototypes of novel electromagnetic surfaces, structures, and materials designed for manipulating RF fields. Perform anechoic chamber measurements and devise RF testbeds to characterize the performance of electromagnetic prototypes, analyze data, and propose design refinements. Advance independent research and development concepts and present/publish results in an effective and timely fashion. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... Hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Possess a strong background in electromagnetics, microwave circuits, and RF electronics. Have 1+ year working experience in calibrating and characterizing typical RF hardware equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), antennas, and spectrum analyzers. Have a working knowledge of the procedures and protocols surrounding the fabrication of engineered electromagnetic surfaces. Write scientific programs in LABVIEW, MATLAB or PYTHON. Are able to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
