Peachford Hospital is searching for an experienced, confident and assertive Self-Pay Collector/Team Lead to work in our Hospital Business Office.
What Role Will You Play?
A Self-Pay Collector at Peachford works to ensure the timely and accurate collection of payments due for their assigned patients. This position may also oversee the daily operations of the hospital based Business Office.
What Will You Get To Do?
Self-Pay Collectors are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
- Ensure the effective implementation of collection measures for uncollected accounts by working assigned accounts by the facility policy.
- Analyze accounts to determine if insurance payments are applicable.
- Control collection efforts of accounts in an organized, professional, and efficient manner.
- Use worklist reports to determine a follow-up schedule for contacting patients regarding outstanding accounts.
- Review and respond to all bankruptcy notices and court requirements.
- Prepare collection letters and monitor data mailers being sent as guided by facility policy.
- Maintain documentation of accounts to be placed with collection agency.
- Write clear and concise notes in the system to accurately depict the status of a claim and/or account.
- Review rates of reimbursement to ensure claims are paid accurately according to the most recent agreement/payment plan.
- Update the system with any new information found (i.e. insurance information, address, phone number).
In addition, as a Team Lead you may also:
- Assign daily tasks to other team members and review for accuracy.
- Assist other team members in solving complex collection and payment problems.
- Report issues to the Chief Financial Officer.
What Does The Georgia Business Center Require for this Role?
At least two year of collections experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, and a high school diploma are required for this career level position. Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
