Keller Foundations, LLC, as part of Keller Group Plc (a UK publicly listed company), is a leading geotechnical contractor and engineering service firm in North America and is the parent company of Hayward Baker, Case Foundation, McKinney Drilling, Anderson Drilling, Suncoast Post-Tension, HJ Foundation and Bencor. Annual addressable spends across these companies are approximately $700M per year and about $150M of this spend is in structural steel products. We are seeking a North American Procurement category manager to join our team. Preferred location is at our Hanover, MD headquarters; however, the position could reside in one of Keller's main offices.

We are seeking a North American Procurement category manager to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Influences and serves as subject matter expert and consultant across Keller for structural steel spend. Analyzes current and future market conditions to determine industry and supplier trends in pricing, service, and availability.
  2. Negotiates with key structural steel suppliers to put favorable NA agreements in place that benefits Keller. Approaches may include leveraging spend across Keller and putting rebates and pricing discounts in place, developing inventory management and bulk purchasing options, driving standardization where possible, improving logistics, reducing consumption, and reducing transactional cost.
  3. Collaborate with Project Managers on large bid proposals (e.g, >$1M) to offer sourcing options that provide the most competitive position. Work with PMs after large awards to further reduce costs.
  4. Maintain and develop where needed key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and ensure financial and performance benefits are being realized by Keller companies.
  5. Interacts and consults with multiple internal functions as necessary (Senior Leadership, Project Managers, Legal, Accounts Payable, IT, Engineering, Finance, etc.) to ensure alignment on common objectives.
  6. As needed, work with various functions to develop and roll-out procurement standard operating procedures and drive procurement compliance. Provides ERP system requirements to help develop more robust procure to pay functionality.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction/Civil engineering, Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Materials/Purchasing or Supply Chain in construction related commodities such as steel. Structural steel related products preferred.
  3. Technical knowledge of manufacturing (e.g, from mill to delivery) and associated costs of steel products preferred.
  4. Seen as a leader and self-starter with ability to communicate and influence both senior leadership and project managers and support staff and deliver proven results.
  5. Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, driving results independently and as part of a team.
  6. Analytical with solid proficiency in Excel preferred.
  7. Knowledge /user of ERP systems such as Groundworks (Microsoft Dynamics AX), especially purchasing aspects preferred.
  8. Ability to travel up to 25%.
  9. CPSM, CPM or equivalent certificates preferred that help demonstrate proficiency in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing. Proficiency in negotiation and contract development preferred.
