The Company Government Analytics practice is at the forefront of revolutionizing the ways that citizens use and learn about government services. Our team specializes in creating personalized nudges that empower people with the information they need to take action and make informed choices. We work closely with internal government innovation groups, and build on the analytics informed feedback loops pioneered in e-commerce, advocacy, politics, and consumer finance.
Our work focuses on individual targeted outreach efforts across email, SMS, phone and mail, empowered by a culture of testing. These contacts have a direct, measurable impact on the lives of millions of individuals. We work closely with internal government innovation groups, and build on the analytics methodology pioneered in e-commerce, advocacy and retail.
Our analytics support ranges from strategic analysis—such as identifying year-over-year trends in demand and availability—to operational support—such as measuring the effectiveness of specific outreach tactics.
What you'll do:
Lead departmental hiring -- including improving hiring process, coaching team members on interview practices, and establishing interview processes.
Oversee people management as a discipline within the team, such as setting standards for managers and directors: Performance review processes, ongoing feedback, trainings, and other strategies
Coordinate cross-team resource allocation
Develop overall organizational design as the team crosses the 20-member mark
Be a sounding board and problem solver individual career growth, ensuring each individual team member is able to grow and meet their individual career goals beyond individual project needs
Develop the Company government practice hiring brand as a great place to work and to solve problems facing tens of millions of Americans as they access basic services
Develop processes to ensure consistent work product across products
Problem solve the things that are currently holding the team back.
Lead all of the above within a lens of how we are ensuring diversity of our team, and including individuals with relevant lived experiences in our work.

You love complex processes, organizational design, and you build those out in a way that you create scaffolding to team members to contribute creatively.
You are passionate about using data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes, and bring a multidisciplinary approach to doing so.
You strive to measure the things that can be measured, and also fight for things that are important and yet inherently unmeasurable

You probably have:
Success stories as a people manager within a civic technology, government, ecommerce, or consulting environment
Experience in a consulting or similar capacity
Experience growing and designing high performance organizations
Developed thoughts on various organizational designs within consultancies, and their respective pros/cons
Experience within a social impact organization
A passion for improving the services that people use to improve their health and financial security
The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, both in writing and verbally
You may have:
Direct knowledge of the civic technology space, and ideas about the role of data science within it.
Experience within a data science organization, and specifically managing data analytics work product.
Experience with large scale email/sms/postal mail outreach campaigns
Experience with consulting on people analytics, large scale organization management, and/or internal communications.
Experience leading cross-disciplinary teams to create technical work product -- whether or not you consider yourself to be a technical contributor
