The Interventional Cardiology Progressive Care Unit is a 23-bed cardiac stepdown unit located in the Blue Tower at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. It’s a fast pace cardiac unit that specializes in the care of Interventional, Electrophysiology and Acute MI patients. These patients primarily undergo invasive procedures to diagnose and treat coronary artery and peripheral arterial disease. Our nurses practice under our Evidence Based Pracitx Model and are highly trained in the care and recovery of our Cath Lab procedural. Our nurses are empowered to learn and grow professionally and actively participate in our unit shared governance.
