Job Description



Develop and implement food safety and quality system process for the Delano campus. Conduct audits of production facilities to ensure company, federal, state and local food safety standards are maintained. Consult with Quality Control Director to develop, implement, and monitor quality systems to ensure accurate and consistent quality attribute monitoring and reporting. Function as an information source to pack house management team and outside company departments in reference to quality and food safety data.

Here's what you'll do:

* Implement food safety audits in accordance with directives from local, state and federal agencies.

* Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained
* Evaluate overall product quality by monitoring all product lines via testing and visual inspection.
* Educate and instruct plant personnel in QC testing, equipment and general sanitation, food safety and GMP practices. Ensure these procedures are continuously maintained.
* Consult with plant supervisors and leads on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
* Facilitate and audit consensus standard/grade change process at supervisor/lead level
* Monitoring and correct (if necessary) inspection activities for product throughout production cycle.
* Document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
* Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
* Ensure safety of all associates and encourage participation in WOW initiatives.
* Management of quality system in Oracle and mobile solution
* Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food processing environment and/or combination equivalent education and experience.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Computer literate. Experience with Oracle or other SAP program desired.
* Advance knowledge of food safety practices and GMPs required.
* Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

* HACCP, PCQI, SQF and/or BRC preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs supervisory activities for direct reports, including but not limited to administering wage information and allocations, developing and coaching staff as necessary, making staffing decisions, and representing staff interests to department management.
