The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for processing all medical records request from outside agencies and provides clerical and administrative support for center as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receives, records, and processes all external medical documents requests from outside agencies and individuals in accordance with PHC/LCS’s PHI required and permissible uses and disclosures policy
- Performs documentation and medical record audits according to outlined procedures as required.
- Records all disclosures of patient medical records in accordance with state and federal privacy laws and HIPAA regulations.
- Scans paperwork into patient charts.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalency. One-year previous experience with Medical Records maintenance preferred.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
