MS Career Coach, Texas McCombs
Career CoachingServe as a key point of contact for our McCombs students, in providing one-on-one career coaching and small group advising. This will include, but is not limited to, resume writing, mock interviews (i.e., behavioral, case, technical), career goal assessment, professional development, job search strategy, networking, offer evaluation, and salary negotiation, etc. Coaching meetings may be held during the day, afternoons before class weekends, and during class weekends depending on program.Stay abreast of best practices and trends for specific industries/functional areas.Serve as a liaison to faculty and staff relevant to student caseload.Track student progress and employability, conduct outreach, and collect internship and post-graduation employment data.Career Education: Teaching and Resource DevelopmentCollaborate with MS Career Education and Coaching team to continually develop career education strategy, content, pedagogy, and mode of delivery to meet evolving students learning needs and to prepare students for a constantly evolving marketplace.Coordinate and execute caseload-specific career curriculum, customized within core MS career curriculum to engage students and address specific needs.Create relevant digital content for online channels (i.e., websites) and maintain online resources.Explore and define opportunities for expanding remote/online delivery capabilities.Career Programming and Engagement Collaborate with the Employer and Alumni Engagement team to develop and execute new programming, panels, and recruiting events preparing students for the changing labor market.Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in recruiting and career advising.Request programming funds and submit requests through McCombs Intranet System for events, room reservations, purchase orders, contracts, etc., and adhere to UT and McCombs policies and procedures.Project/Program ManagementCollaborate with members of the Career Education and Coaching, Employer Relations, and other teams in the Program office to coordinate schedules, calendars, events, and opportunities to build relationships with employers, alumni, and current students.Oversee one or more major projects individually or in partnership with other team members. Major projects may include:Coordination of career curriculum across programsAnalysis and management of vendors (e.g., technologies, speakers, etc.)Management of international student career engagementTracking of employment data and statistical analysisManagement of communication strategyCuration of digital content and resources to asynchronously support studentsSourcing, onboarding, and management of industry career consultants
