Come be a part of our mission.Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Staff Engineer Mechanical based out of Fairfax, VAWhat You’ll get to Do:Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other STEM related degree with 14 + years of experience; 12 years with a Master's; 9 years with a PhD; or 18 years of experience in lieu of a degree.Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willingness to sit for a poly security clearanceMechanical Engineering domain expertise (ideally rack elevation layouts, interconnect cable layouts, assembly management, and facility layouts)Experience with 3-dimensional line-of-sight facility layout analysis (especially for RFI analysis)Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.Experience with creating and controlling engineering documentation for formal milestone reviewsFamiliarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysMLExperience developing technical requirements (especially for civil engineering / facilities)Experience interfacing with program and customer personnel.Strong written and oral communications skillsPreferred Qualifications:Active TS/SCI with polyExperience with Civil Engineering projectsExperience conducting trade-studiesExperience briefing at formal milestone reviewsExperience in working with multiple subcontractorsSalary Range: $146,000 USD $219,000 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
