Job Description:

The Production Planning position will be responsible for working with production supervisors, purchasing, manufacturing and quality engineers to ensure schedules and priorities are being met. Discuss and resolve medium to high complexity schedule issues.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform a variety of duties to release the work packets of various programs and projects according to the Division master schedule and program network plans. Work from the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) system, production schedules, job sequencing packets, established procedures, and practices, and written or verbal instructions. Work closely with Master Scheduling to facilitate the planning and execution of programs as outlined in the production schedules.
2. Ensure all MRP planning data is maintained on a regular basis (i.e. lead-times, lot sizes, inventory transfers, and policy codes). Perform accurate and complete maintenance transactions into the MRP system for all purchasing and planning transactions. Plan, coordinate, and expedite detailed part schedules in compliance with the Master Schedule requirements or as otherwise directed.
3. Review and analyze material order requirements for respective programs and ensure timely order launch to meet production schedules. Notify purchasing and supervisor of any critical items that require expediting.
4. Review all manufacturing orders for release, ensuring no hardware shortages exist. Compile and complete job packets for release to the manufacturing floor which will contain all required documentation including drawings, parts lists, pick lists, operations sheets, assembly instructions and test methods.
5. Work closely with Purchasing, Supplier Operations and Product Teams to status and expedite PO’s while maintaining effective communications regarding delivery status and procurement problems. Communicate real or potential schedule delays pertaining to assigned program(s).
6. Understand the logic of the company Management Information System as it specifically pertains to MRP, order launching and program execution.
7. Able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
8. Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills.
9. Material Requirement (MRP) experience.
10. Prior SAP Experience desired.
11. Excellent written & verbal communication.
12. Ability to investigate issues and problem solve.
13. Explains and interprets process and procedures to others within and outside the job area.
14. Ability to utilize systems to report program status.
15. Collaboration, Organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
16. Able to multi-task work through interruptions.
17. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Requires highly developed job knowledge and skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
   • High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Production Planning experience.
   • 2 years post-Secondary/associate degree with four (4) years of prior Production Planning experience.
