MAKING EXCELLENCE A HABIT
 
Our Laguna Hills, CA, San Jose, CA, Alameda, CA or Hillsboro, OR office is looking for a Professional with 10+ years of health and safety experience to serve as Western Region Safety Practice Lead. This role will be responsible for managing the Safety practice in the western US region. Qualified candidates must have experience in a leadership role in EHS consulting and/or corporate EHS program management and be highly motivated by the cultivation of long-term and mutually-rewarding relationships with clients, coworkers, and partners. This individual would possess strong business acumen, able to develop strategy for the Safety practice, lead large teams within a matrix organization, support regional operations and recruiting, and drive sales. This role will include technical safety support for various clients, project management, account management, and staff management/development (including coaching and mentoring).
 
We are looking for a thought leader in EHS with experience in a combination of the following:

  • Hazard recognition, evaluation and analysis, and development and implementation of controls

  • Regulatory code and consensus standards knowledge

  • EHS Auditing

  • Electrical Safety

  • Hazardous Energy Control

  • Fall Protection

  • Contractor Safety

  • Emergency Response

  • Prevention through Design

  • Professional certifications (such as CSP, CIH) highly desired, but not required


  • Additional responsibilities would include:
     

  1. Developing and promoting the Regional Practice strategy

  2. Supporting operational responsibilities such as staff management, retention, recruiting, staff capacity

  3. Supporting sales functions such as providing input on sales and marketing strategy, collaborating on sales efforts, managing a book of business, client growth

  4. Managing projects and accounts

  5. Delivering technical services


Job Requirements

Position also requires:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including business, report and program writing
  3. Ability to research gather and organize data from multiple sources
  4. Ability to plan and implement projects
  5. Ability to support clients around their designated office and periodically travel to support clients, staff, other BSI offices in the West region and the US

  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong business writing and presentation ability
  9. Strong acumen in science, math with ability to independently use common technology resources including MS Office suite
