Health Readiness Policy and Oversight Program Support

Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies Falls Church, VA Full-Time

The Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for top talent to provide program, planning, studies, analytical, evaluation, administration, document and records management, business process reengineering, logistical, knowledge management, manpower, human resources, and business office support for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Health Readiness Programs and Oversight (HRP&O) and relevant program directorates out of Falls Church, VA.

SUPPORT AREAS INCLUDE:

  • DHA HRP&O, and PDASD(HA) Program Executive Support and Knowledge Management Support – Provides administrative and program support to the organization leadership including but not limited to support in the preparation of briefings; coordinating travel arrangements; managing calendars; recording meetings minutes; revising, creating of documents, spreadsheets, and transmittals; photocopying; sending facsimiles; answering telephone calls; and coordinating with internal and external organizations.
  • Medical Preparedness Policy Support – Oversees policies and programs governing Military Health Systems (MHS) support for Homeland Defense and Defense Support to Civil Authorities; Public Health Emergency Management; Mission Assurance policy and programs; Operational Laboratory Policy and Programs, and medical support to DoD emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Public Health, Force Readiness, and Health Assurance (FRHA) Support – The Public Health, Force Readiness and Health Assurance Directorate develops policies and programs focusing on the health protection, readiness, and performance optimization of Service members and deploying and deployed DoD civilian employees during all phases of deployment (pre-deployment, during deployment, and post deployment).
  • Deployment Technologies Support – The DoD functional representative for readiness and force support information management and information technology (IM/IT) initiatives and provides oversight and support for readiness and force support health technology programs.
  • Operational Medicine - Shapes medical capabilities, medical forces, policies, and programs to improve, protect, and conserve the health of deployed forces.
  • Office of Global Health Engagement Support – Develops and oversees Military Health System (MHS) policies, assists in development of DoD policies, for DoD global health engagement (GHE) activities, conducted in support of Force Health Protection and Security Cooperation across the range of military operations.
  • Medical Counter Measures Support – Ensures safe and effective medical countermeasures are available to the Service members in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) environments. Develops policies and programs to advance health protection for U.S. forces against CBRN threats and infectious diseases, and prevent deteriorating health conditions resulting from Service members' exposure to natural and man-made threats.
  • Psychological Health and Readiness (PH&R) Support – Develops policy recommendations that promote psychological health and readiness to mitigate operational stress in Service members and their families both in garrison and across the deployment cycle.
  • Defense Medical Logistics Support – Responsible for developing medical logistics policy and guidance for the Department of Defense. Manages the Department's Pandemic Influenza (PI) medical materiel preparedness program. Responsible for the execution of funds for PI medical materiel.
  • Research Regulatory Oversight Office Support – Provides regulatory oversight of all human subject research performed by institutions under USD(P&R). The Research Regulatory Oversight Office promotes policies and procedures that facilitate timely and effective reviews of OUSD (P&R) research and ensures that approved research is conducted in accordance with applicable rules and ethical guidelines to protect the rights and welfare of the participants.
  • Current Operations Branch Support – Provides situational awareness and operational management program support for the AD-CS..
  • Combatant Command (CCMD) Liaison Officer (LNO) Program Support – Provides support to the DHA, Assistant Director for Combat Support through locally assigned liaison officers that serve as a single point of contact for the Combatant Commanders interaction with the DHA.
  • Operations, Plans, and Requirements Support – Provides support with medical planning and requirements; decision support analysis; and defense readiness reporting systems.
  • AD-CS Manpower Support – Provides comprehensive manpower analysis and documentation to include detailed survey data, collection and analysis prescribed by the AD-CS
  • AD-CS Human Resources and Management, Business Operations Office Support – Provides the development of organizational improvements to include changes in AD-CS organizational structure, objectives, policies and procedures for program goals
  • Defense Medical Research and Development Program – Provides support to the Defense Health Program (DHP), as a core DoD research program.
  • Reserve Component Health and Readiness Support – Develops and oversees policy support in the area of Reserve Component (RC) health and medical readiness in support of the DHA and the Office of DASD(HRP&O).
  • Coalition and Non-Beneficiary Health Care Programs (CNBHCP) Support – Provides execution in processing a variety of requests for non-beneficiaries to access DoD military treatment facilities.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five (5) years' experience supporting military health programs is preferred.
  • Experience providing relevant support in a DoD environment is desired.
  • Knowledge or experience in DoD medical research, acquisitions, logistics, or relevant areas is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are preferred.
  • May be required to travel within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS and OCONUS).

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Education requirements vary by position. At least a bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree preferred.

CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • May require a common access card (CAC).
  • Some positions may require either a secret or TS/SCI clearance.
