PMO Project Associate - Global Marine Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:
The PMO Project Associate is responsible for supporting the Global Marine Operations department by implementing, developing and adhering to the PMO processes including; tracking the status of program deliverables and milestones, supporting the adoption of the project lifecycle and methodologies, program and project level risk and issue coordination, monitoring the status of projects, coordination of the regular project and program level reporting cycles, post-project reviews and lessons learned.
Additional responsibilities include assisting the PMO Manager with defining and updating the project management processes, standards and governance, assisting Project Managers on large projects, and coordinating activities in support of project objectives.

The environment includes office locations, and/or moving inside/outside the office. A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard, shipyard, dry dock or offsite locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement PMO governance standards across the portfolio including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of program deliverables, status reporting and risk assessments.
- Closely follow project development and track that each stage is completed appropriately and within time and budget.
- Manage program level risks in accordance to company standard risk matrix. Analyze risk exposure and mitigation trends. Escalate project risks /problems when needed.
- Manage program level action log. Assigning deadlines and following up with actions owners on deliverables and completion status.
- Support the implementation of the PMO Project Management strategy including any processes and templates, across the entire project portfolio. Proactively support strategic PMO initiatives to improve the PMO organization, processes and tools
- Effectively manage timely communication and interactions with key program stakeholders.
- Create reports and presentations to show program progress using milestone tracking dashboards, timelines and s-curves for executive updates.

- Responsible for working with the finance team to coordinate execution within overall project budgets. Undersatnding project committed versus budgeted costs and escalating budgets at risk of going over.

- Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree with a concentration in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management or related field OR Bachelors or Masters Degrees in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience: 1-3 years
- Strong leadership and analytical skills and proven experience in supporting a small to medium size team of professionals.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills; particularly within a multicultural environment. Clear and precise communication with all levels of the organization are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate efforts of and get results from diverse, matrixed project teams.
- Excellent organization and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects or initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical, financial and spreadsheet modeling skills.
- Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Software: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required.
- Internal candidates: Knowledge of AMOS, Lotus Notes Database, the CAR process, budget, approval, reconciliation and reporting.
- Language requirements: English
- Ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management and public groups.
