The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Compliance, Legal, Audit & Regulatory Technology (CLAR) provides technology support and development for Legal & Data Controls, Compliance Risk & Audit, Financial Crimes, Front Office and Second Line Risk, Employee Compliance, Regulator Regulations, Market Surveillance, and Regulator Change Management.

This role will provide a centralized agile program management across the various solution created by the Compliance Risk Tech department. The combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the team of Scrum Masters that support our various Product development teams.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead an agile engineering practice supporting technology solutions development across multiple product or capability domains.
  • Partner with business product managers, lead systems architects, and other engineering managers to develop product functional and technical strategy for the domain(s), including development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps and shaping prioritized features.
  • Guide the teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
  • Oversee the scrum masters to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities.
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of scrum masters and assists in hiring top talent.
  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
  • Partner with discipline managers to convey their concerns to scrum teams about governance policies and adherence to corporate standards
  • Ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met.
  • Lead a team of individual contributor and/or lower-level engineering managers.
  • Develop engineering best practices, guidelines, standards, and accelerators.
  • Document and present design to Sr. leaders.
  • Lead effectively in a matrixed organization, developing partnerships with many functional areas, and having a strong execution and delivery, Relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Provide leadership to the team for project planning, requirement analysis, implementation and co-ordinate testing activity.
  • Work closely with our business partners to analyze and resolve all issues and inquiries.
  • Manage both onshore and offshore resources consisting of full-time developers, contractors, and consultants.
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience (technical or non-technical), or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience managing software development projects
  • 2+ years of experience in Scrum, Agile, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience, in a technical environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Agile certification
  • 2+ years of experience with JIRA
  • 2+ years of experience with DevOps
  • 2+ years of compliance and regulatory systems experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
