Class A CDL Driver
A food service distribution facility is looking for experienced CDL truck drivers to deliver product to its customers throughout the Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky area. All products will be loaded by warehouse personnel, but driver will be responsible for safely transporting load while making the delivery and unloading the product at the designated location. THIS IS HEAVY LABOR. They will be using a dolly and cart to unload products.
ROUGHLY 50% of routes will be individual, and the other 50% will be team routes, where they will have a partner with them. 8-15 stop a day.
Deliveries will include Local Routes (100-150 mile radius), Single Layover, and Team Routes -- All routes are 2 nights a week out max, and dispatch is anywhere from midnight on Saturday to 6pm Sunday. The longest route they should ever have will be Louisville, KY. Other than that, they will be back home after every shift.
Route drivers will call in the morning to find out what route they will be dispatched to. For 6 months to a year they will be on the "extras board" meaning they will have to take whatever route they are given. Once they are out of that "entry level" role, they will have much sustainable routes with more normal schedules. Majority of routes are evening routes though.
There is a weekly guarantee of $1100 for a Class A Driver should they not receive a route for a week. They are so busy though, this will unlikely ever happen.
