Reinsurance Operations Specialist - REMOTE
Position Overview:

Founded in 2018 and now valued at $3 billion, this insurance company connects underwriters with capital to support small and mid-sized businesses. With backing from a well-known asset manager and led by veterans in the insurance industry, the company is well positioned for future growth.
The company operates as a property and casualty (P&C) carrier, providing reinsurance and services to managing general agents (MGAs) and managing general underwriters (MGUs). It leverages advanced technology as an insurtech platform, enabling underwriters to manage their portfolios more effectively. In 2023, the company had two rounds of funding, securing significant capital to launch a new insurance underwriting marketplace.
Given the growth and new capital, the company is looking to build out its reinsurance accounting team and capabilities. We're looking for a skilled Reinsurance Finance Operations Specialist with expertise in reinsurance. This role is essential for creating detailed reports and statements related to reinsurance, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial records. The right candidate will have in-depth knowledge of reinsurance operations and financial reporting and be comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The compensation for this role ranges from $90k-140k plus bonus and is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely reinsurance reports and statements, maintaining adherence to both contractual and regulatory standards.
- Lead the reconciliation process for reinsurance transactions, covering areas like premiums, claims, and commissions.
- Work closely with the reinsurance operations team to ensure smooth data integration and accurate recording of transactions.
- Support the creation and refinement of procedures and best practices in reinsurance finance operations.
- Drive process improvements in reporting, enhancing accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Serve as an internal expert on reinsurance accounting and reporting, offering guidance and support within the finance team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in reinsurance and the insurance industry is a must.
- Prior experience in finance operations, especially in reporting and statement production for reinsurance.
- Strong grasp of reinsurance contracts, accounting standards, and regulatory reporting practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
- Proficient in financial systems and adaptable to new tools and technologies.
