Job Summary
This position is responsible to monitor department compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and to perform the following according to location standards and procedures:
Monitors department compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Monitors procurement, storage, preparation, distribution and service of food under sanitary conditions. Oversees and assures appropriate nutritional care for all residents according to physician orders, state/federal regulations and resident care plans within scope of practice for profession when applicable. Assures nutritious appetizing meals, snacks and supplements are planned, prepared, and served in a pleasant atmosphere. Engage with employees daily and make certain staff has what is required to be successful in their position. Demonstrates understanding of the work for positions supervised; ensures staff schedule is adequate and updated accordingly; assures daily work is assigned and provides staff authority to complete. Updates staff on changes in workload or workplace and provides structured feedback. Assesses staff competency and plans for education needs in conjunction with director of food and nutrition services. Provides recognition to employees who perform their duties correctly and consistently, exceeding expectations; encourages others to improve performance. Checks equipment before use and notifies supervisors or maintenance staff of problems. Operates dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely. Follows location infection control procedures and OSHA and CDC guidelines that apply to blood borne pathogens while serving food, assisting residents and cleaning. Provides residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans and their cultural, ethnic and religious food preferences. Ensures residents' common dining areas are pleasant and orderly. Receives and shares information; observes and reports residents' conditions to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Prior applicable food service experience is preferred to be hired into this job. Chef and/or cook experience beneficial. Completion of an accredited dietary manager's course approved by Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals education is preferred.
Must become ServSafe certified within 90 days of employment.
Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.

We are looking for a full-time Food & Nutrition Supervisor to join our team and be a part of our mission! Good Samaritan Society - Boise Village is a non-profit, faith-based, long-term care facility. Our Boise, ID facility is licensed for 127 beds with the capacity for 94 residents. The Food & Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director in managing the dietary department.

The typical schedule is Mondays - Fridays from 7:30am - 4:00pm, this includes a half-hour lunch. This position will average 40 hours per week. The schedule does allow for flexibility as desired candidate may need to fill in for dietary staff call offs sometimes.
