Job Description

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION - The incumbent of this position identifies and collects project execution performance data and provides accurate analysis of overall project health. Performs Review, analysis and evaluatuation of data performance and reviews engineering proposals. Suggest corrective actions for bringing projects/systems back into required performance parameters as necessary. Designs, develops and establishes configuration management documentation based on program requirements. Participates in design reviews, audits, scheduling, budgeting and related activities. May provide work direction to subordinate work unit personnel. Independently performs a range of design, development, analysis or review tasks under generally established project deadlines. Completes design specifications, analysis, or design review for complex projects. Develops maintains and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications. Operates computer systems to checkout programs, troubleshoot and test systems. Analyzes, reviews and alters computer programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt new requirements. Converts project specification's into a sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into a language readable by computer, applying knowledge of computer programing techniques and computer programs. Computer system administrator, computer system analysis, design specification review, and troubleshooting of virtualization and test systems -- configuration management. Control room equipment troubleshooting and corrective action.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

- The incumbent must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 4 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science in Engineering with at least 2 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited doctoral degree in Engineering. The incumbent must have mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enables the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area along with excellent communication and analytical skills. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools and possess planning/organizing skills. The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Must have a valid, current state driver's license.
