Integration & Automation Engineer
As an Integration & Automation Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
* Maintain advanced technical knowledge and skills to contribute to the development and enhancement of integration and automation features in SEL products.
* Define, develop and analyze product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes.
* Diagnose customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers.
* Provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.
* Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians.
This job might be for you if:
* You have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
* You have demonstrated experience with serial, Ethernet, and multiple communication protocols and their application in an electrical power system environment.
* You have 2+ years of experience in setup and configuration of a broad range of network devices and interfaces.
* You have 2+ years of experience at an electric utility, industrial plant, or engineering firm.
* You have the ability to work effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
* You have 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices.
* You have experience contributing to product development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Typically 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices
* Knowledge of industrial controls and PLCs
* Knowledge of 3-phase and electric power systems
* Electric utility telecommunications experience
* Familiarity with and application of any of the following protocols: IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, PRP, IEEE 1588
* Knowledge of electric utility protection practices
* Working knowledge of SEL products and protocols
