Senior IT GIS Analyst - Public Safety

Class Summary

As aSenior IT GIS Analyst, you will apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve system issues. This position will handle the day-to-day systems administration of mapping applications and work with the user community to utilize all system functionality. The candidate will develop workflows and GIS modeling techniques to help automate repetitive tasking for normal business operations Esri environment's geoprocessing tools for data and low-level geodatabase performance.

Other essential duties:

* Provide technical support and service to Public Safety County personnel; perform quality control for GIS data, participate in developing, implementing, and modifying GIS software applications; and conduct research to identify technical solutions for application suitability.
* Aid in technical leadership as related to new applications, from strategic decision-making to project planning and execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree ina related field
* Five or more years of progressively responsible, related systems administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
* Candidates are required to obtain one or more of the following certifications: GCIC Security and Integrity certification; GCIC Inquiry level workbook certification within six months of hire.
* Requires 24/7 on-call support (Team weekly rotation)
* Requires experience supporting operations of applications utilized by comparable public safety departments
* Experience with project life cycle and project management principles.
* Experience producing and distributing both technical documentation and user-level documentation
* Valid Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Sufficient experience in systems administration of software products including: ESRI products, Computer Aided Dispatch, Law Records, Field Reporting, Fire Records, etc.
* Experience in a large government environment where management of life-critical systems exists.
* Preferred experience providing direction and training to users at various levels of expertise to increase their knowledge and abilities to utilize systems supported.
* ESRI dashboard/reporting

This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal histories, and fingerprinting.

This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

After a 60-day assessment period, new hires may be eligible to telework on a limited rotation.

The Department of Information Technology Services consists of six Divisions: Emerging Technologies/Digital Transformation, Enterprise Applications/Development, Infrastructure/Operations, Information Security, Financial/Admin and Business Strategic Services. Gwinnett County ITS is responsible for all information technology systems. The Infrastructure & Operations Support Division, consisting of End User Support, Systems & Storage / Server, Service Delivery, and Network / Telecommunications, collectively providesservices in the areas of Desktop Support, Data Center Operations, Server Administration, and Network and Telecommunications Support. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
