Mental Health Therapist - Brief Counseling Solution (Licensed in CA, FL, IL, IN, NC, PA, SC, or TX)

First Stop Health is seeking a Master’s Level Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PhD, etc.), (Contractor) to provide brief counseling via virtual session. In this role, the counselor will:
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriateness of the model of care
- Develop targeted treatment plans
- Deliver solution-focused brief care (avg 3-5 sessions)
- Activate referrals for in-network providers for longer-term care or specialized care
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
We are looking for individuals with strong clinical expertise, a passion for an outcome-focused model of care, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to collaboration. They are also enthusiastic, service-oriented, curious and collaborative.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' presenting concerns, develop targeted treatment plans, and, as indicated, facilitate referrals to higher-level of care or community resources when clinically appropriate.
- Follow clinical protocols aligned with brief counseling.
- Support client safety by assessing and managing risks related to self-harm or harm to others.
- Apply brief, solution-focused interventions to effectively address clients' immediate concerns.
- Activate appropriate referrals to long-term care or community resources.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all client interactions within the First Stop Health system.
- Stay current with industry trends by reviewing developments in telehealth counseling, evidence-based treatment modalities, and emerging interventions.
- Capacity to provide 12+ contractor hours/sessions weekly
Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in an area of Mental Health (psychology, social work, counseling, etc.)
- Clinical confidence in the Brief Solution-Focused model of treatment
- Preference for experience in an EAP or other brief counseling model of care
- Strong Interpersonal Skills, with a focus on customer service
- Capacity to connect meaningfully with patients during first encounter
- Sound clinical judgment
- Self-starter
- Collaborative spirit
- Clear communicator
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills
- Must have high-speed internet and a private confidential workspace free from distraction, disruption or noise that is consistently professional in appearance
Advanced Skills Required in:
- Organizational skill with attention-to-detail and competent time-management
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
