Associate Attorney
Currently in search of Associate Division Counsel to support the Division Counsel and Legal Department with transactional responsibilities related to land acquisition
This is a newly created position to support the growth of the company
Ideally, looking for a Nevada licensed Attorney with a minimum of 3 years real land acquisition experience, however out of state candidates, willing to relocate and obtain a Nevada License will be considered
Please note this is a fully on-site position, and remote or hybrid is not an option.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides legal advice for land acquisition, land use, entitlement, zoning, and development.
- Reviews and drafts contracts, title and land development documents.
- Works with the title company, municipalities, and special districts; handling closings; consulting with and coordinating with outside counsel.
- Review and revise home buyer contract documents; advises regarding RESPA issues, FHA/VA compliance and other home sale issues.
- Review and revise homeowner association documents and provide advice on homeowner association issues.
- Assist in managing division litigation, including coordination with outside counsel regarding active and potential litigation matters; the provision of documents and information pertinent to active or potential litigation; attendance at hearings, settlement conferences, and related proceedings.
- Assist and advise the Division HR Manager with manager training regarding employment policies and practices.
- Assist and advise the Division HR Manager regarding safety programs, the review and revision of manual and written policies, and safety issues including OSHA.
- Review and revise subcontractor contract documents, handle disputes.
- Provide advice regarding employment matters and issues.
- Provide advice regarding legal issues in construction and warranty.
- Ability to travel overnight
- Review marketing contract and programs; draft documentation as necessary.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate
- Experience with Land Acquisition, Transactional Law & Contracts
- Three to five years related experience and/or training
- Must be a licensed attorney and in good standing with state bar association(s) of which you are a member - willingness to take the bar in Nevada if not licensed in NV.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
