Board Member
Authentic Headspace is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Metro Detroit, Michigan with a focus on mental health awareness & suicide prevention initiatives. We envision a community center for healing and collaboration on mental health and social issues one day. Authentic Headspace is actively building partnerships in Metro Detroit and exploring grant opportunities to develop impactful programs aligned with its mission.
đź’š Our mission is to promote mental health and suicide awareness and provide support/resources for the community through advocacy, education, and compassionate outreach. We are based in Metro Detroit, Michigan.

Role Description
This is a volunteer hybrid role for a Board Member at Authentic Headspace in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, with events being held in-person and monthly board meetings taking place remotely. The Board Member will be involved in strategic decision-making, governance oversight, fundraising efforts, and community outreach initiatives to support the organization's mission of promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit management, mental health advocacy, or a related field
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strategic planning and decision-making abilities
- Fundraising or grant writing experience
- Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Commitment to the mission and values of Authentic Headspace
- Previous board or volunteer experience is a plus
