Description
Position Details:
Title: Generator Field Service Technician
Location: Charleston, SC, remote home-based. Will go into shop once a week to re-tool for the service week.
Shift: Primarily Mon.-Fri. normal daytime hours; otherwise as needed/required for emergency service.
Compensation: $30-$42/hr. starting base rate based on skills and experience + O/T after 8 hours worked daily + bonus based on branch performance and company profitability + cumulative pay raises and incentives for progression through professional development skill grades & certifications + full relocation.

Travel: You will travel daily from your home and service equipment at customer sites in the field within the surrounding area, typically within 2-3 hours of your home. Occasional overnight that will be planned in your service schedule. Company service vehicle provided for all field service work and travel.

Position Description: As the heart of the company, the Technician safely performs service, routine and emergency maintenance, installation, and repair in the field with world-class customer service. In this role you will be responsible for fixing equipment and systems and making repair recommendations to customers. You will work with other service technicians and associates as needed to ensure all scheduled work is performed safely and to the customer's satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
•Service, repair, modify, diagnose, and rebuild standby power generators and fire pump drivers.
•Failure analysis, service, and repairs for customers.
•Service power generation equipment and systems.
•Check/ repair all supporting systems such as fuel, cooling, and electrical.
•Operation of load banks and recording of instrumentation.
•Keep current on product changes, specifications, and updates.
•Operate, drive, and maintain company service trucks and parts inventory for service work.

Requirements: Excellent, safe troubleshooting skills and experience on industrial systems & equipment.
•Must have hands-on experience servicing and fixing 200kW and above generators with ability to step directly into this role with no training required on these generator systems.
•Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, transfer switches, and diesel engines.
•Computer and software skills including microsoft office suite.
•Tools for service work as a maintenance professional. Company offers a Tool Insurance program.
